She’s not saying emo and goth are the same Alex. It’s that they have merged in some ways as well as other styles and genres blending. Goth and rockabilly merged for some thus spanning gothabilly. It’s just cultural fusion and evolution.

She’s not saying emo and goth are the same thing. It’s that they merged in some areas and people blended the two together. Same with goth and rockabilly merging to form gothabilly. Things just fuse together. Though I think this particular article is trying to just sell clothing using key words.
